Recognition has a Lasting Effect

Reward and recognition calls to mind service award luncheons with certificates, door prizes, and Polaroid photos of people shaking hands with the boss. But raises, bonus money and promotions also are reward and recognition. So is open acknowledgment of a job well done like a mention at a meeting with one's peers or a public thank you.
