Leon D. Larson, 82, died March 14. He retired in 1986 from Elmer Larson, Inc., a northern Illinois sand, gravel and crushed stone producer. He was a charter member of the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers and the National Stone Association. William “Bill” D. Toal, former chief economist for the Portland Cement Association, died on March 16. He was 60 years old. Martin Marietta Materials' Tony Stephenson was named Driller of the Year by the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association.
